9 sequence analysis of Nightmare On Elm Street 4: Dream Master

In the first screen shot, the Production logo has been revealed. The second screen shot shows a quote from someone which makes the audience realise what type of genre this movie will be. The third screen shot says who produced the film. The fourth screen shot is a claw mark that shows that the film will be about something vicious. There is music in this scene which may shock the audience. The scratch reveals the colour red which reminds people of blood, this whole scene signifies danger. This shot then fades into the fifth screen shot which shows the title of the film. There is two fonts being used here to create an effect and the words Dream Master are in blue. This may be because dreaming is associated with night time and the sky is mainly blue. The sixth screen shot is a close up shot of a floor, this follows into the seventh screen shot which reveals a child's hand. A child is normally considered as an innocent being, so to have a part in a horror film at the beginning is quite intriguing. The eighth screen shot is of a child drawing a house. This is shown through a birds eye view, as the actor/actress' name appears n the screen. The font colour is in deep red which signifies blood. The final screen shot shows the house that the child was drawing only that it was raining and everything has became darker. This has changed the mood effectively into a dull eerie place to be, not somewhere were you would like to venture into. The final credits appear for the last time in this sequence and as before they are in a deep colour red which reminds the viewers of blood.
